Another one of those accidents from an unexpected explosion of a charge of powder in rock blasting occurred in Portland (St. John) this morn. An old man named Alex. SCOTT is employed blasting away rock on the lands of David ROBERTS. A charge missed fire and Mr. SCOTT and a boy at work with him, commenced to drill it out, when it exploded, no doubt from fire struck by the drill. The old man is terribly injured in the face, so much so, that Dr. Gilchrist who was called to attend him, thinks he will lose both eyes. SCOTT is about 50 years of age. He has a wife and family. He will be removed to Public Hospital.
