Fredericton, Dec. 4 - Arthur SMITH, who had made arrangements to enter possession of the Commercial Hotel today, failed to appear. He drove to Harvey last night and went west. Mr. STAPLES had rented a private house and partly moved out. He hold's Smith's bond which, under the circumstances, is a doubtful indemnity.
