William TOWER, 14 year old s/o Amos TOWER of North End, St. John, was instantly killed in a coasting accident on Cradle Hill, Parks street, Saturday night. It seems there was a hill at each end of this street so that coasters can run down one of them and almost to the top of the other, Saturday night young Tower and a companion named HARDING were coming down one of the hills full force when a large double-runner on which were seated six young men, dashed into their sled. Tower was struck by the front sled in the left side just over the heart. One of the runners pierced his body, tearing a fearful hole in his side and causing almost instantaneous death. The occupants of the double-runner: Robert CURRIE, age 20; James McAULEY, age 17; Robert McKAY, age 15; Fred WHALEN, age 21; Henry JONES, age 18 and Robert ALLEN, age 20 are under arrest awaiting an investigation of the matter by a coroner's jury.
