Word has reached here today of the death of Arthur McLAUGHLAN. Deceased was well known in this city where he was born and where he grew up to a man's estate. He was an officer of the Grand Falls militia nd took a course at the infantry school a few years since. For a time he was partner with H. BLAIR in the manufacturer of sashes and doors. Subsequently he was in the employ of the N.B. Railway Co., but met with an accident which forced him to withdraw from the service. A despatch was received by his brother, Alexander McLAUGHLAN, who is here on a visit from San Francisco, Ca. this morn. containing the sad news. Deceased was about 40 years of age. He was a s/o Alex. McLaughlan, who taught school in the Somerville property. King Street, Fredericton city for many years. He was living in California, with a few miles of his brother Alexander's residence. His mother, who is now visiting friends at Keswick with his sister, Hattie McLAUGHLAN and Storey have resided at Lewiston, Maine for some time.
