Benjamin YOUNG, who died in Callaway, Nebraska, Thursday, was born at St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Jan. 21, 1813 and came to Calais, Me. in 1845 where he soon went into the lumber business in which he continued until about 1869. He then went to Nova Scotia, bought largely into timber lands and erected saw mills in several localities. He here managed lumber until about two years ago when he sold his remaining interest to his son and nephews. Mr. Young married Rhoda STEVENS of Stueben, Maine in 1840. His wife, together with four children survive him, Mrs. Ella HANCOCK, Mrs. George A. CURRAN, Miss Mattie YOUNG and Chas. W. YOUNG. His son and son-in-law and four grandsons were pall bearers at the funeral which took place yesterday. (see original)
