An accident occurred in this city yesterday afternoon by which George ALLISON suddenly lost his life. He was one of the boarders in Miss PRINCE's house, Frost Building, King Street and occupied a room at the top of the building in which was a dormer window opening on the roof. Yesterday afternoon he wished to remain retired and not be induced to go out. Between 2 and 3 o'clock one of his fellow boarders visited him to see if he wished to come down to dinner. He was dozing in his bed and on being rouzed did not second the idea of coming down to dinner. In half an hour after a noise was heard inside the house which was taken to be that of snow sliding down the roof and in a moment falling on the sidewalk. Several of the boarders rushed down stairs when they beheld Mr. Allison's lifeless body on the sidewalk. (see original)
