The 'Advance' says that Mary LANDRY, age 13, met with a sad accident in Chatham (North. Co.) 3rd inst. She was climbing a tree for amusement, when she fell to the ground where she was discovered by her mother, lying on her face in a state of insensibility. On raising her the mother found that she had fallen on a stump of a small bush recently cut down. The sharp point of the stump had penetrated the body and the intestines were so lacerated that, after half an hour of intense suffering, death came to the relief of the unfortunate child.
