Central Hampstead (Queens Co.) Feb. 20 - Sunday 17th inst., Robert BLACK, M.D. died at his residence Wickham, age 81. On Friday 15th, he was stricken with paralysis from which he never rallied. He was born in Dundonald, Scotland, graduated at Edinburgh and began prqctocing his profession in his 20th year. After a successful career of 30 years, he determined to remove to America. In the spring of 1852 he arrived in St. John and proceeded to Kingston (Kings Co.) to see his brother. Soon after he purchased a farm on the St. John river near the head of Sppon Island where he has for 32 years resided and praciticed his profession.. Funeral obsequies were performed by Rev. D.W. Pickett, Episcopalian in the F.C. Baptist Church at Wickham. His remains were interred in the burying ground at Wickham. (see original)
