The present Superintendent of Education for Nova Scotia, David ALLISON, M.A., L.L.D., was born at Newport, Hants Co., N.S. July 3, 1836. His father, James W. ALLISON and mother, Margaret ELDER were Nova Scotians, but their parents were North of Ireland people who had settled in the Province. Dr. Allison's father and grandfather were both members of the Local Legislature. On June 18, 1862, he married Elizabeth POWELL, of Richibucto (Kent Co.) of loyalist descent. (see original for career)
