Fredericton, May 26 - At White Rapids, eleven and a half miles below Grand Falls (Victoria Co.) at 9 a.m. today while 13 men, stream drivers in the employ of Messrs Miller & Woodman, Indiantown (St. John) were crossing the river in a scow, it overturned by the bow striking a rock and four men jumping overboard from fright were drowned. Efforts were made to save them but tyhe rapid water carried them under. A horse was also drowned. Grappling will go on tomorrow.
