Charley BERNARD of Chatham (North. Co.) was sent to jail a few days ago for resisting the police. It was inconvenient for him as he was preparing to get married and the appointed day would arrive before the end of his imprisonment. Most men, in similar circumstnces would have postponed the happy day, by Charley was not to be balked out of his purpose by a little thing like imprisonment. The day came on Tuesday. The maiden, Miss Annie DeGRACE, was on hand also, likewise the Rev. Harrison, and the ceremony was performed.
