Fredericton, July 4 - The remains of a man were found by Edward CORBETT in the river below Morrison's mills this afternoon. They were so disfigured that their identity has not yet been established. Detective Roberts was notified of the finding of the body and it being impossible to get a coroner in the city, Coroner Rowley of Marysville was summoned, a jury sworn. The body was viewed and the inquest adjourned until 8 p.m. in H.B. Rainsford's office. The remains in the meantime have been interred in the Methodist cemetery. The theory was at first started that the dead man is Philip McGINNIS, who has been missing from the Fredericton booms for some days, but Detective Roberts who knew McGinnis, says he does not believe it was he.
