There is some talk in Kent County over a dsicovery made on a farm of George BROOKS who resides on St. Nicholas River, a tributary of the Richibucto. A short time age, Mr. Brooks found on his farm traces of what he thinks is silver, but which experts say is bismith - a valuable mineral. Report has it that some forty years ago, Mr. Brook's grandfather - LUNEY by name - was ascending the river in a canoe in company with a seafaring man named JOHNSTON. During the journey, Luney went ashore on the land owned by his grandson, and after being a short time away, returned with what he thought was silver ore. Very naturally, Johnston thought he would like to see the spot where the ore was found. The men returned to the woods, but though they made dilligent search, could not find a trace of the ore, much to the surprise of Luney, who thought he could proceed directly to the spot.
