The sad news reached town this afternoon that Thomas BOWES, an old resident of Simonds and clerk of the parish for many years, was found dead this morn. on a path that leads from Loch Lomond Road to Golden Grove road. Mr. Bowes was at Brown's, Loch Lomond, yesterday afternoon at the councillors election and when last seen alive had started for home, taking a short cut across the country. As he did not reach home his family became alarmed and this morn., search was instituted. Robert BOWES, son of the deceased and James F. BOWES, brother, on taking the path or road which they supposed the deceased had taken, found his body lying lifeless on the snow. The cause of death has not been ascertained, but no doubt it was apoplexy or heart disease.
