The citizens were taken by surprise yesterday on the learning of the death of John H. KINNEAR, which occurred at his residence this morn. A short time ago he was injured on the head by a piece of ice falling from a building on Prince William Street. The injury was not considered serious at the time. Wednesday afternoon he took a bad turn and it was found that his heart was affected. During the night he became unconscious and passed away yesterday morn. Mr. Kinnear was a well known citizen and is believed to have been worth close to $200,000. He was a native of St. John, his father being a merchant in this city, and he with his brother, Charles F. KINNEAR, being a member of the firm of Kinnear Bros. He did business in this city for many years. This firm was dissolved a year or two ago, both the members of it retiring from business. He was 63 years of age and unmarried.
