John CULLEN, a private belonging to 2nd 18th Regt. of Royal Irish Fusiliers surrendered himself as a deserter and this morn. submitted a statement to the Stipendiary Magistrate to the effect that he enlisted at Dublin in January 1872 and was sent to join the regiment at Davenport. After serving nearly two years he was granted a furlough and was persuaded by the companions of his boyhood to desert, they paying his way to America. - Halifax 'Reporter'
