Peter GALLAGHER, about 40 years of age, was found dead in the mud at the Victoria wharf between 7 and 8 o'clock yesterday morn. The body was removed to the dead house by officer Kickham and Joseph BARTON where it was recognized by a brother-in-law of the deceased. Gallagher, Saturday afternoon, had been negotiating for the discharge of a cargo of coal from schr. "Village Belle" and while returning in the evening it is supposed he missed his footing and fell overboard. His wife is in the United States. Coroner Earle will hold an inquest this morn.
