The schr. "E. Chambers" of New Brunswick, from Glace Bay to St. John, put into this port for a harbor Saturday morn. When off Scattarie, John OLSEN fell overboard from the forerigging. There was a heavy sea at the time and the vessel was sailing four knots, but Capt. BUCK, with great presence of mind and heedless of his own safety quickly tied a rope around him and leaped overboard to the rescue. He soon reached the drowning man and fastened the rope around him and both, greatly exhausted, were then hauled on board by the crew. - 'Halifax Chronicle'
