John TWEEDY s/o James TWEEDY of Williamstown, Northesk parish (North. Co.) Tuesday afternoon 25th inst. was engaged cutting logs about a mile from his father's residence; and in felling a tree, it struck a small dead white birch tree standing near and broke it, one piece of which fell on his head, split it open cutting it down to the mouth, killing him instantly. He was alone at the time, his brother having left shorty before with a load for the shore. Deceased not coming home at the usual hour, his famly became alarmed and his two brothers went in search of him an found his body lying in the snow. Deceased, age 29, was the same person who in the summer of 1857 was much injured by a bear. - Miramichi Gleaner.
