d. Johnston (Queens Co.) 18th ult., age 86, Deacon Thomas THORNE. He was born on Long Island, New York and came to this Province with his parents who, for their loyalty, left home for this strange land and settled on the Washademoak Lake where he lived till his death. He was among the first who professed religion in that place and became deacon of the first Baptist Church in Johnston which office he held till death.
