Samuel Robert THOMSON was born in St. Stephen (Charlotte Co.) in 1825. He was the son of Peter Sheffington THOMSON, Rector of St. Stephen and came from an Irish family. He studied law with his brother, the late George THOMSON at St. Stephen, was admitted attorney in 1846 and called to the Bar two years later. He married late in life. If we are not mistaken, it was in 1874, he was united in matrimony to Miss McDONALD of Bathurst (Glouc. Co.), left two children. (see original for legal career)
