Our Penobsquis (Kings Co.) correspondent writing on 29th says: Abner D. FREEZE, resident of this place, accidentally came to his death by his carriage being run into by the express train from Saint John on Christmas eve. The accident occurred at McCully's crossing, a level road crossing some two miles west of Penobsquis Station and about one third of a mile from the residence of the deceased. Being largely engaged in farming operations and the shipment of milk to St. John, he had been to the station with milk and was returning with some empty cans when killed. His body was taken on board the train and carried to Penobsquis station. Coroner McCready on being notified enpannelled the following jurymen: George E. MORTON, John HALL, Asa SPRAGUE, Jacob T. HALL, Thomas MORTON, Stephen B. WELDON, Melbourne SCOTT. The deceased was the son of the late Samuel FREEZE, M.P.P. and brother of the Sheriff of Kings Co. (see original)
