George T. BAIRD of Victoria was born at Andover in November 1847 of Scotch parentage. He taught a superior school from 1869 to 1874 and from 1878 to 1882, he was postmaster at Andover. Since then he has carried on a business as a general trader at Perth Centre. He was married in November 1879 to Ida SADLER d/o Capt. D.W. SADLER of this city. At the general election in 1882 he was an unsuccessful candidate for the legislature, but he was elected in 1884 on the resignation of R.W.L. Tibbitts to accept the position of Deputy Provincial Secretary and has since occupied the seat. A supporter of the present government. A Conservative and an Episcopalian.
