Springfield (Kings Co.) April 4 - This vicinity has been called to mourn the loss of its oldest resident, Weeden F. WETMORE who died at the advanced age of 86 years 3 mos. Mr. W. was the son of the late William WETMORE, a Loyalist, and who was born in Carleton (St. John). At the age of 12 years he moved to Belleisle Bay, then called Spragg's Point. In 1829 he married Mary HATFIELD d/o late Isaac HATFIELD of Loyalist descent and had eleven children, nine of whom still live, with 24 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mr. W. has been in failing health for about 18 months. He was a member of the first Baptist Church, Springfield for over half a century; also a deacon for 50 years or more.
