Capt. James Hay LEAVITT died recently at Liverpool, England, aged 65 years. Capt. Leavitt was the s/o late Wm LEAVITT, a well known merchant and ship builder. Deceased was at one time engaged in the grocery business here and first introduced the delivery business. He afterwards went to the sea and commanded several fine vessels, among them the "Montezuma". He has resided in England for several years.
