We record with regret this morn, the death of John S. TRITES, an old resident at Moncton and one well known all along the line of the I.C.R. Mr. Trites was in the railway service about 30 years, latterly being trcakmaster between St. John and Amherst, but was superannuated about two years ago. A short time after he had a stroke of paralysis and has since been in a very feeble state. Deceased was a son of Louis TRITES who emigrated from Germany and was one of the oldest residents of Moncton. He was for 50 years a member of the Baptist church and had been identified with the masonic body for about 30 years. Mr. Trites leaves two brothers and one sister. Abel G. TRITES, Petitcodiac, Thomas T. TRITES, St. John and Mrs. Rufus SMITH, Salisbury. His sons are J.S. TRITES, merchant in Sussex; Capt. Frank B. TRITES of barque "Stillwater", L. Carl TRITES, now in New York; his daughters, Miss Maude TRITES, Mrs. W.B. GEROW, St. John; Mrs. Francis ESTABROOKS, Mrs. J.S. TUPPER, Mrs. Thos. ESTABROOKS, Sackville. The funeral will take place tomorrow under masonic auspices. Service in the house at 13:30, cortage to leave 14 o'clock.
