About 11 o'clock yesterday morn. an accident occurred in Miller & Woodman's mill which deprived David DUNCAN of his life. He was a young man of 20 years and was engaged as a spare hand around the mill. When he met his death he was attending to the machinery which hauls the logs from the slip into the mill. In some way the loose portion of the lower part of his pants was caught in the 'nigger' wheel and his leg was drawn between the cogs which crushed the bones as they turned until the machinery was stopped. Duncan was unconscious almost from the first. He was taken to his home in Fairville (St. John) where he died at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Dr. Steeves and McFarlane attended him.
