On Saturday 7th inst., while Patrick McLAUGHLIN of Blackville (North. Co.) was putting hay on his wagon says 'Miramichi Advance', the horses started suddenly, throwing him to the ground. Although the fall was only about five feet, it broke his spine. The pain was so great that he could not be removed from where the accident happened for some three hours when he was carried to his house where he bled inwardly until 10 o'clock on Monday when he died. He left a widow and five children.
