The following information in reference to a former resident of Newcastle appears in the Quebec 'Morning Chronicle', Nov. 20th. C.E. McKEEN was in business in this town for some years having come here from Nova Scotia accompanied by his wife in 1876. He continued in business here until 1888 when he sold out and removed to Truro where he went into business for a short time and then removed his family to Boston. While his family resided there he managed somehow to get a divorce from his wife and then married Miss Ida ADAMS and proceeded to Quebec where he went into the shoe manufacturing business. Not satisfied with having two wives living, this modern Don Juan must needs cast longing eyes upon another man's wife and the 'Chronicle' tells the story. C.E. McKeen did not go to Quebec from England, but from Truro, N.S. He is a native of Nova Scotia. (see original)
