The 'Express' says a sad accident occurred at Arthurette (Victoria Co.) on Sunday 15th inst. by which George CAMBER's house, with its contents, was burned to the ground. The fire was discovered about 4 a.m. when it appears that Mr. CAMBER had barely time to save his wife, mother and children, they escaping only in their night dresses. Melancholy to relate a pedlar named Allan JONES, formerly a School Teacher, and s/o late William JONES of Prince William (York Co.) who was stopping at Mr. CAMBER's, perished in the flames. Mr. JONES had with him about $1500 worth of goods belonging to Wilmot BALLOCH of Centreville (Carleton Co.) in whose employ he was at the time. JONES leaves a wife and family residing at Centreville.
