Regret was expressed yesterday when it was learned that the illness of John H. BAIRD of firm Baird & Peters, had terminated in his death at an early hour yesterday morn. He was at church as usual on Sunday eve., but was taken ill that night. He was a native of Dutch Valley (Kings Co.) and had lived in St. John for nearly twenty years. For ten years or more he was with the firm Harding & Hatheway and for the last sevn years has been associated with C.H. PETERS, jr. in the firm of Baird & Peters, wholesale merchants. Mr. Baird was united in marriage with a daughter of the late John MITCHELL, who with two children survive him. He was 39 years old. The funeral will take place tomorrow from his residence Princess Street.
