A fatal accident under peculiar cirumstances occurred yesterday afternoon at Hilyard Bros. blocks, Portland (St. John). James BARTLETT, a caulker who had been at work with others repairing the bottom of schr. "St. John" was the victim. The body was taken to house of deceased on Acadia St. Mr. Bartlett was about 59 years of age and leaves a wife and numerous family, all of whom are grown up. (see original)
