Hopewell (Albert Co.) Sketch of Old Shepody -... Robert DICKSON, who took up the first grant, had two sons, Robert and William GRANT, the later being one of the earliest seafaring men on the Bay. A large part of the elder Dickson's grant was sold to his step-sons, John CALHOUN and Thomas CALHOUN in exchange for the Calhoun grant at the lake, the latter being much richer soil. Thomas Calhoun afterwards disposed of his part of his property at the Cape to Benjamin BENNETT, the remainder of the property remaining in the Dickson family until late years. (see original)
