Death of Hon. Dr. VAIL - Dr. Vail first came into notice as a practicing physician in Sussex (Kings Co.) having studied at Edinburgh and graduated at Glasgow University in 1837. His father, the late Col. John C. VAIL represented Kings Co. in the Assembly for 20 years. His brother, Hon. W.B. VAIL, M.P. is prominent in politics in Nova Scotia. From 'Parliamentary Companion' we learn that Dr. Vail was born at Sussex 19th Aug. 1817. He was twice married, first in 1842 to Frances Charlotte COUGLE of Sussex by whom he had two sons and two daughters. The latter survive him. His two sons, now dead, were X. Herbert VAIL, some years since a rising barrister in saint John and Dr. William VAIL. Dr. Vail married a second time to Miss MURPHY of Fredericton, who, with two children, survive him. (see original)
