Thursday night of last week, word was received in Sussex that a body of a man had been found in a field on the farm of E.J. McCREADY, Penobsquis (Kings Co.). Inquiry revealed that the man's name was Henry McKINLEY of Alma (Albert Co.) who, with a companion named TEAHAN of the same place had come to Penobsquis in pursuit of a man named DOHERTY, having a capias for his arrest of $20. Doherty, having taken train to St. John before their arrival, the two men decided to return home, but before doing so spent several hours around the village and drank some liquor. They had not come far when McKinley suggested that they spend the night with friends who lived in the vicinity and with this end in view they separated for the night. This was the last time Teahan saw his companion alive. Next day, having waited several hours for McKinley to put in an appearance, Teahan went to the house where he was supposed to be stoipping and found that he had never been there. Search was made with the result as mentioned at first. The coroner's inquest brought out that he had visited several farm houses during the night, and acting like a crazy man, had been refused admittance. The jury brought in a verdict of death from exposure, exhaustion and use of intoxicating liquors. Deceased was 32 years old and leaves a wife and four children.
