The death of Catherine HUBBARD relict of late George HUBBARD, Esq., removes a well known link between past and present. Her husband was a prominent lumberman in this county fifty years ago and she was the daughter of the late John McTAVISH, Esq., a native of Scotland, a distinguished officer of the dragoons and who saw much active service in the stirring times of the latter end of the last century and beginning of this, especially in the Irish rebellion of 1798. He got his discharge in Glasgow, Scotland in 1804 when he emigrated to Miramichi. Mrs. Hubbard was the last of a numerous family.
