Hon. W.M. KELLY, M.L.C. of New Brunswick and for many years chief commissioner of the Provincial Board of Public Works, died at his son's residence Montreal 12th inst. His remains were taken to Chatham (North. Co.) for interment. Mr. Kelly, who was born at Moncton in 1827, was a son of J.M. KELLY who emigrated from Belfast, Ireland to New Brunswick in 1798. He was first elected to the House of Assembly for Northumberland Co. in June 1857 and entered government as chief commissioner of Public Works the following year. He held that office until about the time of the resignation of his leader, Hon. George E. King, when he was elevated to the Legislative Council.
