The remains of John JOHNSTON, an old inhabitant of Newcastle, were interred in St. James church burial ground Friday. The pall bearers were John BRANDER, Thos. MULLANS, William ROBINSON, George STOTHART, John NIVEN and J.H. PHINNEY. He was one of the elders of St. James church. Mr. Johnston was a native of Kincardineshire, Scotland and came to this country in May 1856 or 1857 and lived here from that time until his death. He leaves a son and daughter.
