The death of Andrew LAWSON was announced yesterday. Deceased had been confined to his residence on Union Street (St. John) for four weeks past, his prolonged and fatal illness being due to an old wound received some 10 or 12 years ago. A row occurred on Water street at that time. Mr. Lawson was passing when one WARK drew a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen inflicting a dreadful cut through which the intestines protruded. It was though the injured man would die and his doctors advised him to prepare for the end. He lived and after a tedious confinement again appeared on the streets. The wound, however, never completely healed and has given the deceased increasing trouble and pain which terminated in his death yesterday at the age of 52. Mr. Lawson was a charter member of New Brunswick Lodge, Knights of Pythias, having been president at that organization meeting held at the Temple of Honor hall on Princess street in 1870.
