An inquest was held before Coroner Benson, Tuesday 17th Oct., on the body of Hannah GODDARD w/o George GODDARD, Blacksmith, North West. It appears that after dinner she went out to the stable to feed the pigs and her husband, on returning from work about 4 o'clock, observed the pigs running loose about the field and went with his sun to turn them in. He sent his son into the grain room to get some nails, and on entering he saw his mother lying on the floor. He called his father who came in and found that she was dead and quite cold. Evidence showed that she had complained of rheumatism and suffered occasionally from shortness of breath and distress in the chest. The verdict of the Jury was 'Died from natural causes'.
