On Friday last a serious accident occurred on the Black River road about three miles from (St. John) city. A young man named John CLEARY was engaged in hauling logs, and while proceeding with his horses for a log, inadvertently wound the chain attached to a wiffletree around his body. The horses taking fright galloped off, dragging the unfortunate man after them over the rough ground, mangling him in such a manner as to leave but little hopes of his recovery.
