Arthur M. HAMILTON, M.D., eldest s/o late Dr. George A. HAMILTON of this city, died in Philadelphia, Tuesday, Jan. 15, after a protracted illness. Dr. Hamilton left St. John six years ago and since then, with the exception of a few weeks during the summer months, resided continuously in Philadelphia. He was graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in May 1892 and immediately thereafter began practice in West Philadelphia where he speedily attained an enviable position in professional circles. At the very beginning of his career he received an appointment as house surgeon in the Home for Crippled Children and also served regularly as an attendent physician in the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Dispensaries connected with the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to discharging these duties, Dr. Hamilton found time to prove himself a capable assistant to Dr. DeForest Willard, one of the most prominent orthopoedic surgeons in Philadelphia. His funeral was held on Thursday Jan. 17 from St. Phillip's P.E. Church, West Philadelphia.
