Grand Falls (Victoria Co.) March 21 - It is with regret that we record the death of Alex. WADDELL, Esq., which occurred Sunday morn. at age of 68 years. Mr. Waddell was a native of Glasgow, Scotland. When only 19 years old, he enlisted at Leith in the Royal Artillery and was in the 7th Battalion under Col. McMANN. He served 21 years in this battalion, at the expiration of which time he received an honorable discharge and a pension of 1s 7d per day which was granted to him up to the time of his death. After he obtained his discharge in Montreal, he came to this place and was placed in charge of the Ordnance lands by the Imperial Government which charge he kept until a few years ago. He leaves three children.
