Joseph Edmund COLLINS, who was well known in this province, died at the New York hospital, 23rd ult., from kidney trouble. He was a native of Nfld. and in 1874 came to New Brunswick where he taught school, studied law, engaged in journalism, first in Fredericton and afterwards in Chatham. In 1881 he went to Toronto and 1886 to New York where he became managing editor of the 'Epoch'. His wife, the daughter of late Dr. J.N. MURPHY of Fredericton, survives him.
