Scotch Settlement (Queens Co.) Jan. 20 - Last Sabbath the inhabitants of this place were called upon to perform the last act that love and kindness can do for Mrs. Isabel ROBERTSON whose death on Friday 13th Jan. cast a gloom over the community. Mrs. Robertson was one of the oldest inhabitants of the district having settled here in 1820 as the wife of Thos. ROBERTSON, whom she survived thirteen years. At the time of their settlement there was only one family in this locality. She was a native of Perthshire, Scotland and had passed her 95th birthday. She retained most of her faculties to the last. Her sight was remarkably keen as she could read the finest print without the aid of spectacles. Of her nine children, six survive her. She was the grandmother of 47 children, fifteen of whom are dead, great-grandmother of 39 children, of whom death has claimed two. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. O.N. Mott.
