d. Saturday afternoon, Adam JACK, Esq. (St. John) city. This gentleman was attending as pall bearer at the funeral of the lady of his Worship the Mayor and walked as such to the hay scales at the western end of Brussells St. from which place, as usual, pall bearers and others are conveyed to the burying ground in stages. Soon after getting into one with three other gentlemen, Mr. Jack complained of getting very warm when glasses were put down to admit air; but his companions perceiving that he had fainted, caused the driver to rein up and some of them hastened to the carriage which preceded them in which was Dr. BAYARD who getting into the stage with Mr. Jack to return to his residence, in the meantime to use such remedies as were at hand - but all to no purpose, as it was soon apparent that the vital spark had fled. Mr. Jack has for many years held the office of Secretary to the New Brunswick Marine Assurance Company in this city. - Courier.
