A reporter this morn. learned from Thos. W. SMITH particulars of the sad death of Edward JONES who was drowned by the upsetting of a boat in Snake river, while en route from California to Walla Walla, Washington Territory. He is the son of the late Geo. JONES of Millville (York Co.) blacksmith. For some time he worked with Eben MILLER in this city at blacksmithing. Then he kept a blacksmith shop at St. Mary's. In August 1888 he went to Boston where he engaged in his regular occupation and he subsequently went west. A brother of his is now living in Millville. Another brother was a brakeman on the Gibson branch, now C.P.R. and about seven or eight years ago was killed on the line.
