One of the officers of the City Police Force, Richard EVANS, more familiarly known as Dick EVANS died last night about 9:30 o'clock at his residence, corner of Brunswick and Erin Streets (St. John) He was a member of Sgt. HIPPWELL's division. He was a native of this Province, having been born in this city and was about 40 years of age. He joined the police force in December 1866 and has continued on the force since that time with the exception of 7 mos. in 1875. He leaves a wife and four children. His remains will be taken to Black River for interment.
