George HIBBARD, Esq. of Lower Cove, Cumberland, N.S. whose sudden illness by paralysis was noted in our last, died on Tuesday. Mr. Hibbard was a native of the State of Vermont and came here when quite a young man. He married at daughter of the late Amos SEAMAN known throughout the provinces as the king of Minudie. He became head of the firm A. Seaman & Son, doing business at Lower Cove and Boston. He engaged in mining enterprises at Spring Hill and was the leading promoter of the Spring Hill and Parrsboro Railway. He was President and the largest owner in the Minudie Coal and Railway Company. He was identified with the agitation for the construction of the Joggins Railway and was vice president of that company. Mr. Hibbard was a Liberal and President of the County Association. Mr. Hibbard was only 64 years of age. The funeral takes place tommorow at 1 p.m.
