A telegram received at Amherst, N.S. Wednesday by Mrs. Caroline TRUEMAN who is staying with her daughter, Mrs. E.L. BLACK, conveys the sad news that her eldest son, James Starr TRUEMAN had died as he was about leaving Asheville, N.C. for home. Mr. Trueman was a native of Point de Bute (West. Co.) but when quite young removed with his parents to Carleton, N.B. and studied at Dalhousie College. After taking his degree in 1892 (sic), he was appointed on the teaching staff of that college, a position which he held for about two years. He completed his education at John Hopkins University, Baltimore and shortly after was appointed to the position of Professor of Greek and Latin in Alleghany College, Meadville, Pa. Prof. Trueman's health had been failing for some time and about a month ago being forced tom relinquish work, he went with his wife to Ashville, N.C., but received no benefit from the change. In 1890, he married Miss Margaret T. NEWCOMB, West Cornwallis who was the first lady graduated at Dalhousie College. He was in his 34th year. His remains are being brought home for interment.
